Air Plant Care Sheet
First Steps
Hello! Since your air plant has traveled, it is best to submerge it in a container full of water for about 30 seconds to a 1 minute. This rehydrates the plant after time in shipping. Please DO NOT use tap water without letting it sit out for at least 4 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. This also ensures the water is room temperature which keeps your plant from going into shock. When removing from water, place your air plant in a well-ventilated area to dry.
Watering
Over-watering is the MOST common reason that air plants DIE!
- Lightly mist your plant with a spray bottle 2-3 times a week.
- If you find that misting is not sufficient, you can briefly soak once a week and see how your plant responds.
- Blooming air plants should be dipped instead of soaked because their flowers don’t like water.
Temperature & Lighting
- Keep your plant in an area where it receives a moderate amount of direct sunlight or artificial home/office lighting.
- The air plant should be kept 6 inches to 3 feet away from artificial light.
- Your wonderful air plant can thrive in temperatures ranging from 50° to 90° F.
